How to Modify Your Xbox 1 Wallpaper Without a USB

Before starting, please view the notes at the bottom of this post.

Hullo there! I recently figured out how you can change your Xbox wallpaper without using a USB ! For those of you lot who really want a custom background and don't accept a PC or USB (nor do you want to utilize an uneditted Xbox screenshot or Achievement Art), this is for you!

There are three methods. The commencement is the Xbox Only Method , which utilizes Microsoft Edge and My Files Explorer (yes I know most of you have problems with this, but trust me, it works). The 2d is the Xbox and Phone Method , where y'all can use pictures from your telephone. The third is the Cropped Screenshot Method , where you can upload your Xbox screenshots and crop them on your phone. They all have their own benefits, which I will list out under each method.

Before I get into both methods, make sure you install OneDrive  (gratis) and My Files Explorer  (there is a free 24-hour trial, and then you have to pay $2.59 to own information technology) on your Xbox. From there, you need to add a file to My Files Explorer  called UserMgr0  (please note that the number is irrelevant , you might have a 1 or a 2 or an 8, simply it's all the same). Here'southward how you lot can add the UserMgr  file:

1. Open My Files Explorer
2. Navigate to the three-Dot Button (...) , it should appear in the upper-right corner; if you don't see it, the pop-upwardly carte might be blocking it, and so click A on the blank space.
3. Find " Add together binder to library " and click A; this volition bring up what is left of the former File Exlorer
4. On the left hand side, navigate to the Xbox-looking push button  and click it

12. Once the file is open, look to the top navigation bar; there should be a button that says " Set as Wallpaper ." Click it
13. Once you click the button, you can leave out of My Files Explorer and meet your beautiful new background

XBOX AND PHONE METHOD*

Benefits of this method:

• Tin can apply images saved from your phone's camera roll
• Tin use cropped images

This method requires the post-obit apps:

OneDrive

Microsoft Edge

Here are the post-obit steps:

1. On your phone, discover an image in your camera roll that you would like to set as your Xbox background. If you lot want an image from online, look for an image, and then save it to your photographic camera roll.
   1. Do all of your photo editing on your phone before uploading to OneDrive
2. On your phone, get to onedrive.live.com  and log into your Microsoft Account

14. When the prompt pops upwardly, click the " Save as " button
15. Navigate to the Xbox-looking button  and click it
16. Select the " Pictures " file, then the " Saved Pictures " file
17. Rename the epitome if y'all like, then click " Save "
18. Open My Files Explorer
19. Navigate to the " UserMgr0 " file (or 1, or 2, etc.)
20. Locate the " Pictures " file and click information technology
21. Locate the " Saved Pictures " file and click it
22. Locate the paradigm you just saved and click it
23. Once the file is open, await to the top navigation bar; at that place should be a push button that says " Set as Wallpaper ." Click it
24. Once you click the push, y'all tin can leave out of My Files Explorer and run into your beautiful new groundwork

CROPPED SCREENSHOT METHOD*

Benefits of this method:

• Tin use cropped versions of Xbox Screenshots as your Xbox wallpaper
• Useful for eliminating GUIs and HUDs from screenshots

Microsoft Edge

Here are the following steps:

1. If you already know how to take a screenshot on Xbox, skip to footstep 4.  Find a scene or prototype in your game. To take a screen shot, press the Xbox  button on your controller
2. Navigate to the " Capture and Share " department
3. Locate " Capture screenshot " and click information technology to take a screenshot
4. Under the same section, locate " Contempo captures "
5. Select the screenshot you merely took
6. Ringlet down to " See all sharing options " and so select " OneDrive "
7. Click the " Upload to OneDrive " button
8. On your phone, go to onedrive.alive.com  and log into your Microsoft Account
9. Expect for the file named " Pictures " and click it, and then select " Xbox Screenshots "
10. Select the screenshot you only uploaded
11. In the top bar, select the 3 Dots (...)  push, then select " Download "
12. Once you download the image, save the image to your Photographic camera Coil
    1. For iPhone
       1. When you select download, a popular-up volition appear, select " View "
       2. Select the Share  button, then curl down and tap " Save Prototype "

    2. For Android : I own an iPhone and therefore do not ain an Android phone. If you practise not know how to upload photos from your photographic camera roll, please look this up.
16. Now, get to your Xbox and open OneDrive
17. Locate the paradigm you just uploaded from your phone and select it
18. On the top bar, locate the " Share " button
19. Locate the " Get a link " button and select it
20. Next to the link, click the " Copy " button. This will copy the link to your clipboard
21. Open Microsoft Border
22. In Microsoft Edge, click the +  button to add a new tab
23. Hovering over the search bar , press the 3 Bars  button on your Xbox controller
24. Select " Paste and get ." This should bring y'all to your image
25. In the top bar, look for the " Download " button and click information technology
26. When the prompt pops up, click the " Save as " push
27. Navigate to the Xbox-looking button  and click information technology
28. Select the " Pictures " file, then the " Saved Pictures " file
29. Rename the paradigm if you like, then click " Save "
30. Open My Files Explorer
31. Navigate to the " UserMgr0 " file (or 1, or ii, etc.)
32. Locate the " Pictures " file and click it
33. Locate the " Saved Pictures " file and click it
34. Locate the image you just saved and click it
35. In one case the file is open, look to the top navigation bar; at that place should be a push that says " Set as Wallpaper ." Click it
36. Once you click the button, you can exit out of My Files Explorer and see your beautiful new background
